While living in a bubble to keep healthy isn't an option, you can try a natural body detox program. Detoxification is the process of clearing toxins from the body, something your body does every day.
By changing your eating habits and having a healthier diet, your body is better able to rid itself of these toxins. If you are overweight, eat a lot of processed or junk food, take medication, drink alcohol, have health problems, or are exposed to chemicals in the workplace, you need to make changes to improve your body.
If you aren't sure whether you need a detox, some symptoms of toxicity include headaches, fatigue, skin problems, frequent colds, aching joints, cravings, digestive problems, allergies, and sensitivity to smells or chemicals. There was a time when detoxing your body wasn't necessary, but our modern way of life brings with it an overload of toxins. A detox diet will give you more energy, better digestion, and more resistance to sickness.
Although it might be difficult to do, limit the amount of fat, protein, bread, pastry, white rice, caffeine, sodium, sugar, and fried or processed foods you eat. You may find it easier to gradually cut down on these foods. Sugar will be the hardest to stop using and it will help if you don’t even drink fruit juice until your longing for sweets has passed.
Try to eat plenty of green vegetables, drink a lot of pure water, and consume high amounts of fibre. Throughout the day, enjoy raw fruits and their juices, preferably organic. Add fresh herbs and spices, seeds and nuts for a well-rounded diet. By using foods that have plenty of nutrients, you will help eliminate wastes from the body.
Daily exercise and breathing clean air, at least as much as possible, will also benefit your physical and mental health.
When you begin a natural body detox, you may feel a little unwell as the toxins are released from your body. These are temporary, so don't give up. You don’t need to fast and it isn't recommended, since you will experience more side effects, especially headaches, and won't ever want to try a detox again. If you have a medical condition, always ask your doctor if a detox cleanse is safe for you. |
